Description of C Purlin:

C purlin roll forming machine was designed to make the steel C purlines for roofing. It is an revolution for construction. Compared with traditional purlins, steel purlins have so many advantages, they are light, easy to install, and recyclable for other buildings etc. Therefore, as we can see, in mordern steel industrial buildings or prefab enineered buildings, people always use C purlinsZ purlins and sometime U purlins without flange stiffeners as well.

According to the usage of the C purline, we divide the C purline to the following types:

What is the C purline machine?

C purlin roll forming machine is equipment that produces C shaped steel channels continuously out of galvanized or cold rolled steel strips from feeding, punching for holes, bending and cutting.

Due to the change architects made about steel purlins, c purlin roll forming machine has been designed. Generally, a c purlin roll forming machine C shaped section channels continuously from feeding of the material, straightening, and roll forming, punching for holes or slots, and shearing. Finally, the main components of a c sectional channel roll forming machine include a manual decoiler (3TONs capacity), a feeding guide for materials of different sizes, a levelling device, a front hydraulic punching for holes or slots on flanges, roll forming part, a rear hydraulic punching for holes or slots on web, a hydraulic cutting for cut to length, a PLC control cabinet, and and a hydraulic oil pump.

For the punching part, we have two options for your reference:

Option A: punching before rolling forming

  1. Punching before rolling forming can do the punching easily and fast.
  2. It can be used to punch the high density holes.
  3. And it could be any kind of holes combination.
  4. By changing the punching dies, you can also save lots of money for punching station.

Option B: punching after rolling forming

  1. Punching after rolling forming, we could use for both bottom holes and side holes.
  2. The hole position could be very accurate.

Interchangeable c/z purlin roll forming machine manufactures both Cee & Zed shaped section channels with shapes and sizes quick changed by PLC control within the thickness of 3.0mm from 1.5mm and the bottom sizes could be from 50 to 300mm.

Here use some brief words to descrip the Interchangeable C/Z purlin rolls forming machine. In some degree, we call it as semi-automatic C/Z purlin roll forming machines, even if the changing time is greatly improved, from C to Z could be controlled within 5 minutes but the cutter adjustmnet need manual work.

However, this machine can make both C and Z shaped section channels. People still need two machines for the manufacturing of C and Z steel purlins. Investment on two roll forming machines (one Cee shaped section channel roll forming machine and one Zed shaped section channel roll forming machine) is not ideal solution to contractors or distributiors. Options A: manual C & Z machine

Traditional c/z purlin can make many section channels of different sizes (standard: 6 different sizes varied from 80-300mm web sizes,50-100mm flange sizes,15-20mm leg sizes), but it needs manual changing and each size changing will take at least 2 hours, as a result, traditional c/z steel purlin roll forming machines don’t work so much efficiently.

Option B: semi automatic C & Z machine

Different with other type CZ purline, ours can finish shape from C to Z can be finished within 5 minute. While on a other design of sem-automatic machine, operators move the respective sub-frames to adjust for different sizes of web heights or flanges.
